Beginner Flash Project

You need to upgrade your Flash player to see the slideshow.

Here is an intro to a basic informational package, made with Flash. It is used in a workshop teaching beginners how to make news packages with Flash.

There are no movie clips, no scenes, no loaded SWFs.

There are two buttons, one Graphic symbol, and three Bitmaps.

Download the FLA (336 KB) and have fun. Study it. Take it apart. Add sound to it. Add new buttons. Use it to teach other people how to make things with Flash. That's what I built it for. NOTE: Requires Flash 8 or later.

Download a PDF instruction sheet (1 MB, 10 pages, illustrated).

See/download four iterations of the project.

Image Files

Download the three image files used in the project.

To complete the exercise, these three files are the ONLY files you need to download (assuming you already have the instruction sheet handout).

Addenda

Note that the SWF is only 33 KB, and it contains all the images. To see how the image file sizes were reduced, look in the Library in the FLA. Click the image icons to see their properties.
